After Sushant Singh Rajput’s unfortunate demise last year on June 14 2020, his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty was embroiled in a lot of controversies. A lot was said and written about Rhea, who spoke only once in media. And ever since, she has been sharing positivity notes on Instagram and is taking one day at a time. Next week, her movie Chehre is releasing but Rhea isn’t a part of promotions. When the posters of the film were released, Rhea’s absence was felt. And it had to lead to rumours and speculations about her ouster from the film. Many reports suggested makers had dropped the actress from the film.

The makers put all rumours to the rest by showcasing Rhea in the official trailer of Chehre. Ahead of the movie’s release, Times Now Digital did an exclusive interview with director Rumi Jaffery.  In the interview, Rumi was asked if the controversy surrounding Rhea’s absence from the movie’s posters had affected Chehre.

To which, the filmmaker said, “A few days after the posters released, our film’s trailer was released. Last year, jab ye haadsa hua tha Sushant ka aur ye saari cheeze chal rahi thi, tab bhi aapne mere interview dekhe honge, tabhi maine ye nahi kaha tha ki mere film mein Rhea nahi hai. Of course, she is an actress and she is there in our film. Our film was supposed to release last year in April.”

Rumi further mentioned, “Sushant ke haadse ke bohot pehle complete ho chuki thi. The film has nothing to do with it. I had said this earlier as well, Rhea is and will always remain a part of our film. Na uske role ko chota kiya gaya hai na bada kiya gaya hai. Jaisi thi vaisi hi hai. And according to that, we have revealed her character in the promotions.”

Talking about Chehre, it features Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi in important roles. Ek Hazaron Mein Meri Behna Hai actress Krystle D’souza marks her big Bollywood debut with the film. After Bell Bottom, Chehre is the second film that will release in theatres post the second wave of coronavirus.
