On July 19, 2021, businessman and actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra was arrested by Mumbai police in a pornography case. Post which, there were several raids that took place at Shilpa and Raj’s house. Raj is still under police custody and the investigation is on. Amid all this, Shilpa was maintaining a stoic silence and was also seen taking a break from her work to focus on her personal life.
When Raj was arrested, Shilpa was shooting for the kids’ dance reality show Super Dancer 4, where she is a co-judge along with Anurag Basu and Geeta Kapoor. Post Raj’s arrest, Shilpa went missing from the show and several guest judges stepped into her shoes. But now, after almost a month, Shilpa is back on the sets of the show and the same has left everyone happy.
Reportedly, Shilpa got emotional when she received a warm welcome on the sets of Super Dancer 4. Shilpa’s return was confirmed by the producer of the show Ranjeet Thakur. Ranjeet informed Indian Express, “She is our judge and she is here to stay.”
He didn’t divulge further details but a source informed, “Shilpa has judged the show since it started in its first season in 2016. The makers were waiting for her to return and did not want to get another celeb in her place. We are glad that she has resumed shooting. Hopefully, she will continue on the show till the end of this season. It was also an emotional decision for her to gather courage and get back to work after her husband got allegedly involved in the porn apps case. The makers are happy that Shilpa is back shooting today and they did not have to look for a replacement.”
The source also informed that Shilpa was warmly welcomed by the Super Dancer 4 team, which made her quite emotional in the morning.
Reportedly, Shilpa will start shooting for the show on Tuesday (August 17) and the show will air the same weekend.
Earlier, Shilpa has issued a public statement on the ongoing case, for which, Raj has been arrested. A part of her note reads, “All I will say is, as it’s an ongoing investigation, I have full faith in the Mumbai Police & the Indian judiciary. As a family, we are taking recourse to all our available legal remedies. But, till then I humbly request you – especially as a MOTHER – to respect our privacy for my children’s sake and request you to refrain from commenting on half-baked information without verifying the veracity of the same. I am a proud law-abiding Indian citizen and a hardworking professional for the last 29 years.”
