It’s well known that Lady Superstar Nayanthara filmmaker and beau Vignesh Shivan have been together for nearly six years. Recently, Nayanthara became a part of a regional chat show and during the conversation, talked about the ring on her finger and confirmed her engagement. In the promo of the television talk show hosted by popular anchor Dhivayadarshini aka DD, Nayanthara was asked about the ring and she said, “This is an engagement ring,” and they moved on to other topics.
In the same show, the pretty actress also opened up about her personal life and her relationship with director Vignesh Shivan openly for the first time in public.
Nayanthara also spoke about her wedding to Vignesh Shivan. She said, “It was my engagement ring. We are private people so we didn’t want to have a grand ceremony. When we decide to get married, we will definitely inform our fans. Our engagement happened in the presence of our immediate family members. We haven’t decided on our wedding yet.”
Talking about Vignesh Shivan, Nayanthara said that her fiance is very encouraging and created an environment that she doesn’t have to get permission from him.
“So far, the men I’ve come across would first try to convert a successful woman as a homemaker. But in my case, only after Vignesh Shivan came into my life, I’ve become more ambitious and started becoming very busy. He also takes care of his mom and sister that before eating his food, he would make a call to them to know whether they had their food, this has been the case for six years”, said the actress.

Nayanthara fell in love with Vignesh Shivan while working for the 2015 Tamil film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan under his direction. The couple has been in a relationship for 6 years. Vignesh Shiva and Nayanthara have joined hands for a film titled Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal. The film features Vijay Sethupathi and Samantha Akkineni in lead roles.
Nayanthara was last seen in director Milind Rau’s Netrikann, which is currently streaming on Disney+Hotstar. The film released on the OTT platform on August 13 and opened to mixed reviews.
