At least two alleged terrorists were neutralised by security forces on Saturday morning in the forest area of Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir. The forces are carrying out search operations to eliminate other potential threats in the forest.
According to Kashmir Zone Police, intel was received regarding the presence of terrorists in Pulwama’s outskirts. Following the input, security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the Nagberan-Tarsar forest area in south Kashmir this morning.
The police further confirmed that the search operation turned into an encounter after terrorists opened fire at a search party of the forces, who retaliated
The police confirmed that two unidentified individuals have been killed so far in the encounter. The exchange of firing is going on and further details are awaited.
“The exact location of the encounter is between Namibian and Marsar, general area of Dachigam forest,” said the police.
During a press conference, IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar confirmed, “Topmost Pakistani terrorist affiliated with proscribed terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) Lamboo was killed in today’s encounter. Identification of second terrorist being ascertained.”
Mohd Ismal Alvi alias Lamboo alias Adnan was from a family of Masood Azhar. He was involved in the conspiracy and planning of the Lethpora attack. He stayed with Adil Dar till the day of the fidayeen attack, viral video of Adil Dar had his voice in it, said IGP Kashmir.

The encounter has come a day after four CRPF troopers, including a junior officer, and a civilian were injured in a terrorist grenade attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Police said terrorists attacked a CRPF party in the Khanpora locality of Baramulla town with a grenade today.
“Four CRPF troopers including an assistant sub-inspector and three jawans were injured in this grenade explosion. One civilian also received splinter injuries. All the injured have been shifted to hospital for treatment,” added the police.
