A celebrity wedding is always a grand affair that makes headlines for many weeks. While some choose breathtaking locations for their marriage, some keep it simple. Although, there are also couples who like to keep it private. One such Bollywood couple is Archana Puran Singh and Parmeet Sethi who had a quiet wedding. But did you know that the actress had kept her marriage hidden from the glamour world for four years.
Recently, during an exclusive interview with Times Now Digital, Archana revealed the reason behind keeping her marriage hidden for four years. She stated that it was due to the choice of her career that she had to take this step.
“At that time, in our industry, there was a common perception that if a girl gets married her work dwindles down. In the industry, they used to say that married heroines do not get much work. There is that little chauvinism in the industry. Women and men have different guidelines,” Archana said
The actress further revealed, “The industry thinks that shadi ho gyi hai, bacha ho jaega and then she might leave her commitment halfway through or not devote her time and commitment to our film. Parmeet and I said that marriage was for us, we wanted to do it personally and not keep it a public affair. We both wanted to get married. Parmeet didn’t want marriage to affect my career. We both decided to keep it a secret”.
On the work front, Archana is famous for being a judge on The Kapil Sharma Show. Talking about her journey with the comedy show, Archana said that her “sojourn” began with The Comedy Circus show. She had met Kapil 10 years ago when he was a participant in the comedy reality show.
“When Comedy Circus went down and Kapil Sharma show came on, he had asked me. Our old association got revived. We picked up from where we left off. There has always been great mutual respect and mutual trust between both of us. We are dedicated and want to do a good job., There is a huge amount of admiration I have for him and there is a lot of mutual love between us. When The Kapil Sharma show started, it was like I am coming home. Bharti, Krishna, Kiku; have all been on The Comedy Circus. For them, I was like a mumma bear being a part of the family”, Archana revealed.
