Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati said if the claims made by the UP Police about the terror plot being busted in Lucknow are true then it is a serious matter and no politics should be played over it’. The UP ATS busted a terror plot arresting two people with links to Al Qaeda on Sunday.
Taking to her Twitter handle, Mayawati said the “UP Police claim of busting a terrorist conspiracy in Lucknow and that the two people arrested in this case are linked to Al Qaeda, if true, then this is a serious matter and appropriate action should be taken, otherwise there should be no politics under its guise.”
She added, “This type of action creates doubts in the minds of the people only when the general elections to the UP Assembly are approaching. If there is any truth behind this action, then why was the police oblivious for so long? This is the question people are asking. Therefore, the government should not take any such action which will increase the unrest among the public.”
Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav also said that he has no trust in the Uttar Pradesh police and the government on the alleged terror crackdown in Kakori.
