From Kaithi to Mafia Chapter 1: Five Tamil movies that threw light on drug abuse

Tamil cinema audiences have witnessed many genres of films, and their favourite stars continue to entertain them with good content. Kollywood stars every time try hard to present something new to their fans. 

But still, some of the genres are not touched regularly by stars since they might only attract a certain type of audience. Thus, only a few crimes are shown in films since the film might face violation during the censor.

Here is a look into the five Tamil movies from Kaithi to Mafia Chapter 1, that are woven around drug abuse 

Kaithi, is about the arrest of a group of smugglers, and their gangs attack on the Police. Actor Karthi played the main role as Dilli, he gave a tough fight to stop the circulation of huge drugs in society. Director Lokesh Kanagaraj had presented a perfect entertainer via this film.  The action thriller film was received positive reviews from both critics and the audience.

Mafia: Chapter 1, which was directed by young director Karthik Naren received a positive response from the audience. Arun Vijay and Priya Bhavani Shankar played the lead roles as Narcotics Control Bureau Officers while Prasanna played the antagonist. Arun Vijay fights against a secret drug lord, who has control over the supply of drugs in the city
