Today is your day Virat: Jofra Archer’s old tweet resurfaces after Jamieson removes Indian skipper on Day 3

The unpredictability of Jofra Archer’s deliveries is quite similar to the England pacer’s social media posts on Twitter. Besides giving premier batsmen nightmares with his deadly beamers and swing bowling, Archer is also known for breaking the internet with his tweets. For the unversed, Archer is also hailed as a modern-day ‘Nostradamus’ for his ability to predict the future with his old tweets.

On Sunday, one of Archer’s old tweets resurfaced on the internet when Indian skipper Virat Kohli was looking to convert his start into a match-changing knock in the World Test Championship final. Team India led by skipper Kohli is fighting for red-ball supremacy in the final of the ICC World Test Championship at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Southampton.

At a time when Kohli was leading Team India from the front, an old tweet of the England and Rajasthan Royals (RR) pacer became a trending topic across social media platforms. “Today is your day Virat,” Archer had tweeted back in 2016. However, skipper Kohli failed to add to his overnight score in the opening spell on Sunday. Kohli was removed by New Zealand pacer Kyle Jamieson in the 1st session. Fans were quick to leave noteworthy responses on Archer’s old tweet.

Kohli had resumed India’s innings on Day 3 of the Test Championship final with his deputy Ajinkya Rahane. Unbeaten on 44 off 132 balls, Kohli was outfoxed by his Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) teammate in the 68th over. Kohli had guided Team India to 146-3 on Day 2 of the Test Championship final before bad light forced early stumps yesterday.

The Indian skipper had also crossed the 7,500-run mark in Test cricket with his crucial knock against the Black Caps. Talking about Jamieson’s match-changing spell, the New Zealand pacer not only thwarted Kohli’s bid to score a welcome half-century but the Kiwi pacer also removed dangerous Rishabh Pant for cheap to help New Zealand bounce back in the Test Championship final.
