Love at first sight! How Kane Williamson met his life partner at a hospital in 2015

Kane Williamson may be a cricketing icon and one of the most followed cricketers but not many know about his personal life. Kane maintains a low profile on social media and doesn’t make many public appearances with his partner. As per reports, the New Zealand skipper has been in a relationship with Sarah Raheem, who was born in Bristol. The couple isn’t married.

Kane and Sarah welcomed a baby girl in December 2020. He was forced to miss the 2nd Test match against West Indies to be with his partner for the birth of their first child. This is probably the biggest piece of news about Williamson’s personal life in the public domain.

As Williamson is leading the Kiwis in the World Test Championship final against India, we have a look at how the couple met –

As per a report in NZherald, Kane and Sarah have been together since 2015. She is a qualified nurse and studied at Bristol, the report in publication adds.

Multiple reports have suggested that Kane and Sarah first met in a hospital and the meeting turned out to be a memorable one for them as they started dating after that. They have stayed together since then and were blessed with a baby girl in 2020.

Unlike India, cricket isn’t the most followed in New Zealand and the cricketers don’t get much media coverage there. Surprisingly, Kane hasn’t shared even one post with his partner.

Kane, who led New Zealand U-19 in the junior World Cup in 2008, made his international debut in 2010. He had played domestic cricket before the ICC event. Kane became the backbone of NZ’s batting after his debut and is now one of the best batsmen in world cricket.

Courtesy of his friendship with Virat Kohli and association with  IPL franchise, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Williamson also has a massive fan following in India. He is a regular visitor to India and leads SRH in IPL. Under him, SRH made it to the final of IPL 2018. He was reappointed as the franchise’s captain during IPL 2021
