Cong, NCP trying to weaken Shiv Sena, will be better if you get closer to PM Modi: Pratap Sarnaik to Uddhav

Shiv Sena MLA Pratap Sarnaik has urged Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to get closer to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as Congress and the NCP are trying to weaken the party.

“NCP and Congress want their own CM. Congress wants to contest alone, and NCP is trying to break away leaders from Shiv Sena,” his letter read.

Sarnaik has suggested that if Shiv Sena and the BJP come together again, it would benefit the party and the workers.

‘We believe in you and your leadership, but…’

The Shiv Sena Thane MLA also alleged that the Central agencies are targeting Shiv Sena leaders.

“Central agencies are targeting us for no fault of our, if you come close to PM Narendra Modi, sufferings of leaders like Ravindra Waikar, Anil Parab, Pratap Sarnaik and their families will end,” he added.

Sarnaik also said no central agency is behind NCP leaders.

This statement from the Sena MLA comes after Congress Maharashtra chief Nana Patole said that Maha Vikas Aghadi is not a permanent fixture.

Patole had earlier said that Congress would go solo in all the future polls.

Decoding Shiv Sena’s mixed signals to the BJP

On Saturday, Uddhav Thackeray took a veiled swipe at the Congress saying that people would “beat with footwear” those who only talk about contesting elections alone without offering solutions to people’s problems.

The CM also attacked the BJP saying some people are suffering from stomach ache after losing power.

I can’t give them medicine, but I will give them political medicine, he said adding that Shiv Sena has emerged stronger than before.

The Shiv Sena supremo also reiterated that the party has not abandoned Hindtuva after forming a government in Maharashtra in alliance with Congress and NCP.

Shiv Sena leadership has been giving mixed signals to the BJP.

Days after the one-on-one meeting between Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray and the PM in Delhi on June 8, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut called Narendra Modi the top leader of the country.

However, on June 13, Raut changed tune launching a scathing attack on the saffron party saying Shiv Sena was treated like “slaves” when it was part of the BJP-led coalition government in Maharashtra.

He also alleged that the BJP tried to “finish off” Shiv Sena by giving it “secondary status” in the government.
