With her autobiography Sach Kahun Toh, Neena Gupta has once again won several hearts. Talking about every aspect of her life and her early struggling days in acting, the 62-year-old star has made some honest confessions and revelations. Neena, who had started her career in the early ‘80s, has been delivering stunning performances with movies like Badhaai Ho, Sardar Ka Grandson, and more.

One of the most talked-about years in Neena’s life was when she was dating cricketer, Sir Vivian Richards. The two had a daughter Masaba Gupta, who is one of the most established fashion designers in the country today. Neena recalled one time in her life when she and Vivian had planned a trip with Masaba so that the cricketer could bond with her and spend time with his daughter.

“I was happy for days after that and even got Masaba excited about the trip. ‘We’re going to meet your father,’ I told her, and she shrieked with glee,” the actress wrote. However, it was also during that time when Neena had to get her daughter admitted to a good school and feared that because of her family situation, especially due to the bad press, Masaba’s admission wouldn’t be that easy.

However, Neena’s aunt helped the actress secure an interview with the main trustee of Jamnabai Narsee School and the date was set. But the date clashed with Neena and Masaba’s trip with Sir Viv. When he called the actress to ask if everything was set for the trip, she told him that they have to postpone because of Masaba’s interview.

But Vivian didn’t understand the importance of it. Or maybe I wasn’t clear enough in explaining to him how difficult it was for a child in this situation to get admission in a good school,” she wrote.

She added that because of the call, she felt like she couldn’t explain to him properly. “He thought I wasn’t serious about meeting him and was just making an excuse to drop out. This wasn’t the case at all. He hung up on me, dismissive, and angry, and didn’t call me again for five years,” she wrote.
