Kangana drags Aamir’s intolerance remark amid her passport renewal controversy: ‘No way he was tortured’

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, who moved the Bombay High Court on Tuesday for her passport renewal, has now dragged Aamir Khan into the controversy. The passport authority rejected Kangana’s passport renewal plea, post which the actress moved the court to seek directions to the authorities to renew her passport. The actress said she wanted to head abroad for a shoot.

Now, Kangana has taken to social media to make a reference to Aamir’s ‘intolerance’ remark from years ago. The actress took to Instagram and shared a screenshot of one of her posts on her Koo account. Alongside which, she talked about Aamir’s remark and said that the actor had offended BJP, but he wasn’t harassed.

She wrote, “Please note when Aamir Khan offended the BJP government by calling India intolerant no one held back his passport to stop his films or shoot in no way he was tortured or harassed.” This was in reference to a post on Koo, where Kangana claimed that she is being indirectly harassed by the Maharashtra government again.

“Mahavinashkari government has started my indirect harassment again. My request for passport renewal has been rejected because a tapori/roadside romeo called Munnawar Ali filed a sedition case (deshdroh case yes the irony of it is hilarious on me) by the way the case was almost dismissed by the court yet the court rejected my request for passport and the reason given is ‘my request is vague’ hmm,” read Kangana’s post on Koo.

Both Kangana and her sister Rangoli Chandel were booked by Bandra Police in October 2020 on alleged sedition charges. The controversy happened after the complainant alleged that Kangana and her sister tried to create communal disharmony with their statements and tweets about people gathering outside Bandra station in May last year.

Kangana has been in the news in the recent past for her controversial statements. The actress’ Twitter account was disabled, post which, she started to share her opinions on Instagram and Koo. On the film front, Kangana has films like Thalaivi, Dhaakad, and Tejas in the pipeline. In Thalaivi, Kangana plays the role of late legendary actress-turned-politician Jayalalithaa, while Tejas has her in the role of air force pilot. Dhaakad, a spy thriller, has Kangana playing the role of an officer.
