It is all known that Tollywood’s young actor Adivi Sesh is all set to entertain the audience with his upcoming movie Major. Being a biopic of 26/11 Mumbai terrorist hero Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, this movie showcases the life of the great NSG commander who sacrificed his life rescuing hostages from the hands of deadly terrorists.
Adivi Sesh is stepping into the shoes of Major Sandeep and will showcase a few glimpses of his life and how he saved the lives of many tourists who came to Mumbai and stayed in the hotel Taj.
Well, this movie was earlier scheduled to hit the screens on July 2, 2021, but due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the makers have postponed the release date. Off late, there is a piece of interesting news doing rounds in Tollywood about this movie.
The makers of Major have sold the overseas rights at a whopping amount to the Weekend Cinema banner which also bought Indian blockbuster movies like Kabir Singh and KGF.
This was possible with the intense teaser which garnered millions of views on YouTube. Thus, many banners started discussing with the makers for overseas rights.
Finally, the Weekend Cinema banner has acquired the rights in association with Southern Star International and is all set to release the Major movie abroad. Now, these banners will release the movies in the countries like the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore in all three languages namely, Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam. These banners released over 150+ films in Australia and New Zealand. Even the makers of the Major movie are in talks with several banners for the fancy theatrical and satellite rights.
Speaking about the cast, Saiee Manjrekar will be seen as Adivi Sesh’s ladylove Isha. Shobita Dhulippalla will be seen as the guest (Pramoda) in the hotel who will portray the role of a mother to a small girl too. Even Prakash Raj, Revathi and Murli Sharma are roped in to play important roles in this biopic. Prakash Raj will be seen as Major Sandeep’s father Mr. Unnikrishnan and Revathi as this his mother Dhanalakshmi Unnikrishnan while Murali Sharma will the part of the NSG commando team.
Major is being directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka and is produced by Mahesh Babu under the Sony Pictures, A+S Movies and G. Mahesh Babu Entertainment banners.
