It has been 5 days since the news of actor Pearl V Puri’s arrest shocked not just his friends but everyone. For the uninitiated, Pearl has been arrested for allegedly raping a minor (5-years-old) girl a few years back. Reportedly, it is an old case and the same has been filed by the girl’s father. Ever since Pearl has been arrested, there have been many theories around the case. While many believe that the actor is innocent and they stand with him, there are also a few who have been demanding strict action to be taken against him.
Several TV celebs have come forward and demanded justice for Pearl. And one among them is his co-star and filmmaker Divya Khosla Kumar. Divya has been penning hard-hitting notes on social media and has been demanding justice for the actor. While, in an interview, Divya said that Pearl is being used “to settle scores”, she has now penned an angry note demanding his bail.
Taking to the photo and video sharing platform, Divya wrote, “There were sm comments on my handle that why I’m trying to be the judge myself in the #pearlVpuri case..well let me update you all a little further…Pearl’s father passed away a few months back, his mother is suffering from a life-threatening disease…Rape charges of a 5ys old have been put on Pearl for which there is no bail under the POCSO act. now, who will fight his case for him…who will hire a lawyer for him & look into all intricacies.”
She further wrote, “His ailing mother is a senior citizen & starts crying every few seconds…He’s ready to fight his case & prove his innocence but at least release him on bail. He’s not running away anywhere but why snatch the basic human right from him to defend himself? WHY????”
A few days back, Ekta Kapoor also came forward and talked in length about Pearl and revealed what kind of a person he is. Not just that, the filmmaker also revealed that she had a conversation with the girl’s mother and she has refuted any such claims stating that Pearl is innocent and the case is filed by her husband to prove that’s he is not a good mother
Later, the conversation between Ekta and the girl’s mother also got leaked and the same, the filmmaker can be seen urging the mother to come out and speak the truth.
