Bollywood’s rumoured couple Disha Patani and Tiger Shroff have been allegedly booked by the Mumbai police for not abiding by the COVID-19 restrictions. The actors were reportedly found roaming at Mumbai’s Bandstand Promenada after 2PM, without any valid reason.
For those unaware, the lockdown in Maharashtra has been extended till June 15 with curbs on movement across the state after 2 PM, except for essential services.
ANI has carried the report stating, “An FIR has been registered against actors Tiger Shroff, Disha Patani & others for violating COVID-19 restrictions: Mumbai Police The actors were found roaming at Bandstand Promenade & couldn’t give a valid reasons to police for being out of their homes after 2 pm.”
Mumbai Police decided to confirm the same by taking a dig at both the actors on Twitter. Without mentioning Tiger and Disha’s names, Mumbai Police referred to their movie names and wrote, “In the ongoing ‘War’ against the virus, going ‘Malang’ on the streets of Bandra cost dearly to two actors who have been booked under sections 188, 34 IPC by Bandra PStn . We request all Mumbaikars to avoid unnecessary ‘Heropanti’ which can compromise on safety against #COVID19”
Disha and Tiger were reportedly in their car, driving around their neighbourhood when a few cops stopped them for checking. While Tiger was sitting at the back, Disha was sitting in the passenger seat. The ETimes report stated that the police checked their Aadhar card and some other formalities, following which, the two left. A source told the publication that the rumoured couple was riding in their car after a gym session.
It’s left to see if Tiger or Disha issue a statement regarding the FIR lodged against them. Earlier, the couple had come at the receiving end of trolls for holidaying in the Maldives amid pandemic.
