The first season of Family Man revolves around the character Srikant Tiwari (played by Manoj Bajpayee) who works as a senior analyst in the fictional Threat Analysis and Surveillance Cell (TASC). TASC belongs to the part of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) of India.
The episodes in season 1 had a shift between Srikant’s personal life and professional career. As a married man to Suchitra (played by Priyamani), Srikant had two kids. The life of Srikant juggled between his unsettled family life and the investigation of the potential terrorist attack.
The Season 1 episodes were said to be inspired by real-life newspaper articles. The series went on to rule the streaming platform and became a huge hit. It was premiered on 20 September 2019.
The Family Man Season 1 became the most-viewed Indian web series on Amazon Prime Video. It also received 5 Filmfare OTT Awards including Best Actor (Critics) for Manoj Bajpayee, Best Actress (Critics) for Priyamani, Best Series (Critics), Best Director (Critics) and Best Dialogues.
The countdown for the premiere of Family Man Season 2 has started and Samantha fans are highly thrilled to watch her in action.
Earlier, when the trailer of Family Man 2 was released, the makers faced a strong backlash from Tamilians for portraying the character of Samantha (a Tamil rebel in the series) in a bad light.
The portrayal of Samantha, in the trailer, as Raji (which alluded to the Sri Lankan Tamil Eelam rebel group LTTE), who gets involved in the violent physical attack in Chennai, Tamil Nadu did not go well among the youngsters and Tamil political circle.
Further, the social media users alleged the tone of the trailer projected the historically significant and defacto Eelam rebel group as militants. However, Raj and DK requested the Tamil fans to wait and watch the series before taking a stand against it.
The second season of the show was initially scheduled to air on 12 February 2021 but later postponed to 4 June 2021 (tomorrow).
