Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh rushed to PGIMS Rohtak due to abdominal pain, taken back to jail after CT scan

According to a recent development, self-styled godman Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was rushed to PGIMS Rohtak on Thursday after he complained of abdominal pain. The jailed Dera Sacha Sauda chief was taken back to the Sunaria jail after a CT scan examination. Primary treatment was also administered to the godman at the hospital.

Last Friday, a one-day parole was granted to Singh to meet his ailing mother Naseeb Kaur. The parole was approved after the Haryana Police granted a No Objection Certificate (NoC) to the prison officials. He was taken out of the Sunaria jail, where he is currently lodged, with the help of a tight security cover.

Parole granted to self-styled godman to see mother

In October as well, a one-day parole was granted to the controversial godman as he wanted to see his sick mother. The location, where the Dera chief met his mother, was not disclosed due to security reasons. Last month, Singh was taken to the hospital after he complained of chest pain and discomfort, The Indian Express reported.

On August 25, 2017, Singh was convicted of raping two women ‘disciples’. He was pronounced guilty by a court in both cases and was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment in each case – leading up to a total of 20 years. On January 11, 2019, he was convicted of murdering Chhatrapati and was sentenced to life imprisonment.

The self-styled godman is also facing murder charges over the murder of the Dera’s manager Ranjit Singh along with another case alleging castration of some of his followers. The castration case is pending under litigation
