Raima Sen is the daughter of famous Bengali actress Moon Moon Sen and granddaughter to the queen of Bengali cinema- Suchitra Sen. The actress started her career with a tiny role in Godmother, where Shabana Azmi essayed the protagonist. Success did not come to her easily, but she was slowly climbng the ladder.

However, Raima had a huge setback in the early part of her career. During an interview with Times Now Digital, the actress revealed that she had faced a dull period in her life, when she did not get any films.

“Before Chokher Bali there was a little dull period of 2-3 years, where I did not get any work. It was pretty depressing and that was a long time back. People not getting back to you took a huge beating to me and to my own confidence,” the actress revealed, adding that she while she did go through with that, in retrospect, she realises it made her stronger

“If someone replaces me or does not call me back today, I am ok with this. I have been there and done that. I feel that maybe I do not look like the role or fit the part”, she quipped.

However, she reminisces that at that time she was young and did not understand the pros and cons of the entertainment industry.

“I have always watched my mother. When we were small we did not realise the hard work that goes into filmmaking. We wanted to be actresses as my mother looked glamorous. She would take us to the sets and travel so we saw all that. We did not realise the amount of hard work it has, which is true and I have learnt a lot. Life is neve like just good and bad. Now I am enjoying the perks”, she said.

Raima feels that work came easily to her as she was the granddaughter of Suchitra Sen. “Yes, of course, the first break always comes easy to you. The first break will be easy for any star kid”, she said.

“You have to sustain and carve a niche for yourself. There is a lot of competition, which is cutthroat”, she elaborated, adding that she feels that there is more pressure and expectation on a starkid to perform than on a newcomer.

The Bong diva got recognition for her films Chokher Bali (2002) , Parineeta (2005) Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. (2006),The Japanese Wife (2010). On the work front, she was last seen in The Last Hour.
