Aclaimed viral audio clip allegedly involving retired judge Giribala Singh, mother of absconding accused Samarth Singh, has added fresh tension to the Twisha Sharma case. In the recording, she is allegedly heard defending questions raised about her daughter-in-law Twisha Sharma’s “past conduct” and relationships before marriage.
The audio is said to show a heated exchange between her and Twisha’s brother, Major Harshit Sharma.
Alleged Arguments Over ‘Past Conduct’
In the recording, Giri Bala Singh is allegedly heard responding to objections raised by Major Harshit Sharma over how his sister was being treated after marriage.
“Why can’t I question my daughter-in-law’s past conduct?” she is heard saying, while defending repeated discussions about Twisha’s earlier relationships and loyalty after marriage.
The audio, widely shared on social media, captures a tense family dispute. Major Harshit Sharma is heard accusing his sister’s in-laws of humiliating and emotionally harassing her over her private life.
“Promiscuity can become a habit,” Giri Bala Singh is heard saying in the recording, while justifying concerns allegedly raised within the family.
Remarks on Past and Social Background
In another part of the audio, the retired judge allegedly says she had worked in Reshampura in Gwalior and had “worked with prostitutes”, while also making remarks about how people “climb the social ladder”.
“Some sell their brain, some sell their bodies,” she is purportedly heard saying.
Allegations of Abuse Within Marriage
The audio also suggests that Twisha Sharma had complained to her family that her husband, Samarth Singh, used abusive language towards her, including calling her a “prostitute”. Major Harshit Sharma is heard questioning the in-laws during the exchange.
“How can you ask this to your own bahu?” he asks repeatedly, expressing shock over the alleged questioning of Twisha’s character and loyalty. “When I heard this, it broke me. I could not understand how someone is supposed to mellow it down,” he is heard saying. He also adds that while some may treat such issues clinically, “there are emotions involved”.
Dispute Over Disclosure Before Marriage
The mother-in-law allegedly says that any “promiscuous behaviour after marriage” would not be tolerated, and claims such questions were relevant to understanding “whether commitment would remain after marriage”.
The recording also suggests disagreement over whether Twisha had shared details of her past before marriage. Major Harshit Sharma claims she had informed her husband about past relationships, but objects to those details being used against her later.
Police Action and Search for Accused
The tape also refers to wider family tensions, phone calls, group exits, and concerns about Twisha’s mental condition after marriage. Meanwhile, Bhopal Police are continuing efforts to trace Samarth Singh, who is absconding in a dowry harassment and criminal case.
Bhopal Police Commissioner Sanjay Kumar has announced a reward of Rs 30,000 for information leading to his arrest. Earlier, a Rs 10,000 reward announced in May was withdrawn and increased after police failed to trace him.
Police say Samarth Singh has been booked under Sections 80(2), 85 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act. The case is registered at Katara Hills police station in Bhopal. Officials said six police teams are carrying out raids, and efforts are underway to issue a Look Out Circular (LOC) against him.

Twisha Sharma, a resident of Noida, married Samarth Singh, who is from Bhopal, in December 2025. Her family has accused her husband and in-laws of mental harassment and dowry-related abuse. The case has sparked strong public reaction. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav recently met Twisha Sharma’s family in Bhopal and assured them of full government support.
