Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Team India on winning the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, stating that the victory has filled the heart of every Indian with pride and joy.

PM Modi, Amit Shah hail Team India’s spectacular victory

“Champions! Congratulations to the Indian team on winning the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup! This remarkable triumph reflects exceptional skills, determination and teamwork. They have shown outstanding grit through the tournament,” PM Modi said in a post on X.

“This victory has filled every Indian heart with pride and joy. Well done, Team India!,” the prime minister wrote.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also showered praise on the Indian team for the spectacular victory, congratulating Team Blue for bringing “glory and pride for the nation”.

“What a victory!! Hats-off to World Champion #TeamIndia. Your exceptional performance throughout the tournament and the vigorous display of mettle has brought glory and pride for the nation. Congratulations to the entire team for making every Indian proud,” Shah posted on X.

India decimates New Zealand to capture third T20 World Cup

Team India lifted their third ICC T20 Men’s World Cup title on Sunday night as they decimated New Zealand by 96 runs in Ahmedabad.

Batting first, India posted a mammoth 255 for 5, the highest-ever score recorded in a T20 World Cup final, on the back of a dazzling batting performance by the in-form Sanju Samson, who struck 89 of just 46 balls with eight sixes.

Abhishek Sharma (52) and Ishan Kishan (54) hit explosive half-centuries to blow away New Zealand’s bowling, laying the foundation for Shivam Dube to blast 26 of eight balls in the slog overs.

In response, the Kiwis were never really in the chase as Jasprit Bumrah (4/15) and Axar Patel (3/27) tore through their line-up, ultimately skittling the Black Caps for 159 in 19 overs, handing India a comfortable victory by 96 runs to lift its third T20 World Cup trophy.
