Taliban unveils ‘Greater Afghanistan’ map, claims pakistani territory and vows to raise flag in Lahore

Amid rising tensions with Pakistan, Afghanistan has unveiled a new map of “Greater Afghanistan,” which showcases areas of Pakistan as part of Afghanistan. Even before unveiling the new map, the Taliban had consistently disregarded the Durand Line – the official border between Afghanistan and Pakistan. This has been one of the main reasons behind the recent clashes between the two sides.

The Taliban claims that Afghanistan extends beyond the Durand Line. According to the new map, Afghanistan now considers a large part of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, as well as several Pashtun-dominated areas, to be part of Afghanistan.

Map Handed Over to Taliban Deputy Minister in Khost Province

At a ceremony held last week in Khost Province, Taliban Deputy Interior Minister Mohammad Nabi Omari was presented with a map titled “Greater Afghanistan,” which includes parts of Pakistan and removes the Durand Line, Amaj News reported.

Taliban Warns Pakistan

During his speech, Omari warned Islamabad that if another war were imposed on Afghanistan, the Taliban would resist it in the same way they fought against the Soviet Union and the United States.

Taliban Warns of Siege “Till Lahore”

Patriotic songs were played at a Taliban military parade, one of which warned Pakistan. The Afghan Taliban’s warning stated they would “raise the white flag in Lahore and burn Islamabad.”
