Speeding is prohibited on the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway this month since the construction project cannot be completed on time. The inauguration date has been extended one more time in this case. According to current reports, it will be fully operational for public in December or at the end of November. After the expressway opens, the journey from Delhi to Dehradun will take only 2:30 hours. Traffic crossing the Yamuna will also benefit the most.

Expressway Work Under Construction

The highway project for Delhi, which begins at the Akshardham, was prepared a few months ago. For some months, the elevated area next to Gandhi Nagar has been off-limits to cars. It is being informed that the expressway won’t be available for public use until it has been completed. Its building work could not be finished in the allotted period because to numerous technological issues.

Delhi-Dehradun Highway: Part of Bharat Mala Pariyojana

The Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, which is being built as part of the Bharat Mala Pariyojana, has been under construction for a number of years, according to officials of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). This highway’s construction is nearing completion and will allow people to travel from Akshardham to Dehradun in about two and a half hours.

No Toll Tax, Parking Facility Available

Delhi residents won’t have to pay a toll in this area, and the expressway would ease traffic congestion on the Yamuna. On this section of the expressway, entry and exit points have been established at Akshardham, Gandhi Nagar-Geeta Colony, ISBT-Dilshad Garden Marg, Khajuri Pusta Marg, and Signature Bridge Marg. Here, a different loop has been created next to the Shastri Park Red Light. This will make it simpler for cars coming from the Kashmere Gate bus stop to travel on the highway. In Khajuri Khas, entry and departure points have also been created. However, it has taken several months for this bundle to be available.

The elevated section of the expressway will have parking constructed beneath and alongside it. For this reason, National Highway Logistics Management Limited (NHLML), a subsidiary of NHAI, has been tasked with creating the parking. In the locality of Gandhi Nagar Market, which is well-known in the capital for its ready-made clothing, three parking spots with a capacity of 1000 cars have been located on empty lots beneath and beside the raised section.

FASTAG will be used to pay in the parking lot. There will be automated gates at the entrance and exit. It will contain a display board that indicates how much space is occupied and unoccupied. Tempos, autos, trucks, and taxis are not permitted to park in this lot.
