Trump Gives Hamas 48-Hour Deadline to Return Deceased Hostages’ Bodies, Says ‘I Am Watching This Very Closely’

US President Donald Trump has given Hamas a 48-hour deadline to ‘quickly’ return the deceased hostages’ bodies, including two American citizens, who were taken during the deadly October 7 attack on Israel. The Republican leader warned the militant organization that failure to comply would affect future negotiations.

In a post on Truth Social late Saturday, Trump said, “We have a very strong PEACE in the Middle East, and I believe it has a good chance of being EVERLASTING. Hamas is going to have to start returning the bodies of the deceased hostages, including two Americans, quickly, or the other Countries involved in this GREAT PEACE will take action.”

The American President added that some bodies may be hard to recover, while others could be returned with immediate effect. “Some of the bodies are hard to reach, but others they can return now, and, for some reason, they are not. Perhaps it has to do with their disarming, but when I said, “Both sides would be treated fairly,” that only applies if they comply with their obligations. Let’s see what they do over the next 48 hours. I am watching this very closely.”

Trump Says ‘Gaza Ceasefire Will Hold’

On the Gaza ceasefire, Donald Trump issued a stern warning, stating that it will hold, and in case it doesn’t, then Hamas won’t be difficult to deal with. “It’ll hold. It’s going to hold. If it doesn’t hold, Hamas will not be hard to take care of. It will be very quick. But I hope it holds for Hamas, too, because they gave us their word on something. They said they took out gang members. I hope that’s right. But they gave us their word on something. So, I think it’s going to (hold) and if it doesn’t then they’ll have a very big problem,” he said.

He made the statement aboard Air Force One, while on his way to attend the ASEAN summit in Malaysia, and also highlighted wide support for the peace plan.
