PM Kisan 21st Installment: Will Rs 2,000 Be Credited on Diwali? Here’s What Farmers Need to Know

On the occasion of Diwali on Monday (October 20), farmers eagerly look forward to receiving Rs 2000 under PM Kisan 21st Installment. Although the eligible farmers are enthusiastic about the arrival of the financial aid today itself, some hopes may be shattered. Banks will remain closed in some cities on the festival of lights. There is, however, a possibility that the money will be credited to their accounts.

Will The PM Kisan 21st Installment Be Credited On Diwali?

Before Diwali, millions of farmers across the country were hoping that the next installment of Rs 2,000 would be released before Diwali. However, it now appears that the process will be delayed and released at any time. Banks will be shut in Agartala, Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Itanagar, Jaipur, Kanpur, Kochi, Kohima, Kolkata, Lucknow, New Delhi, Panaji, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Shimla, Thiruvananthapuram, and Vijaywada for Diwali (Deepavali).

No Update On Official Portal

The farmers were keenly awaiting the money on Dhanteras, but the installment did not arrive. So far, farmers across Jammu-Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Punjab have received Rs 2000 under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana due to recent natural losses. The scheme’s official portal still shows the old information with no recent update.

If reports are to be believed, the central government may credit the 21st installment in the first week of November. The payment is likely to be credited on time if you have already completed e-KYC verification, land verification, and your bank account is DBT-enabled.
