Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Bihar’s Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana through video conferencing. Under the scheme, the first instalment of Rs 10,000 each was transferred directly into the bank accounts of 75 lakh women beneficiaries to encourage self-employment and strengthen livelihoods. It was Prime Minister himself who directly transferred Rs. 10,000 each into the bank accounts of 75 lakh women across Bihar, totalling Rs. 7,500 crore.

“In the auspicious time of Navratri, I have had the opportunity to be part of the happiness of the women in Bihar. So far, 75 lakh sisters have joined this scheme. Rs 10,000 each has been sent into the bank accounts of all these sisters at once,” Modi said.
