The political heat in Bihar ahead of the assembly elections is intensifying with new developments emerging every day. What particularly made the headlines was the ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ started by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in Patna, supported by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the controversy it sparked involving Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s late mother. Now, the RJD has landed in controversy after a clip from Tejashwi Yadav’s ‘Bihar Adhikar Yatra’ in Mahua went viral social media. The video was also shared by BJP on Sunday, with the party alleging that abuses were again hurled at PM Modi’s late mother by RJD workers during the event.

BJP shares video

The video posted by BJP Bihar has been shared by Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Samrat Choudhary on X. Choudhary stated that Tejashwi Yadav has again insulted PM Modi’s mother, tearing apart Bihar’s culture. He has accused Yadav of encouraging RJD workers who were hurling abuses against PM’s late mother.

Sharing the video, Choudhary wrote, “Tejashwi Yadav has once again insulted—Modi ji’s late mother. He has once again torn apart the culture of Bihar. In the rally, the RJD workers were hurling as many abuses as they could, and Tejashwi was encouraging them just as much. The mothers and sisters of Bihar will surely hold him accountable for this thuggish mentality and abusive behavior.”

RJD refutes claims

As the post went viral, RJD denied the accusations, stating that the BJP was using a doctored video to defame the RJD ahead of the elections. RJD leader Mukesh Raushan, in a post on Facebook has countered the allegations levelled by Choudhary. He clarified that no RJD worker has hurled any abuse at PM Modi’s mother, adding that a conspiracy has been hatched to defame Yadav by circulating a doctored video.

“The speech that the respected Leader of Opposition Shri Tejashwi Prasad Yadav ji is giving today during the Bihar Adhikar Yatra in Mahua is on my Facebook page, you can listen to it, in that no worker or any person has abused the Honorable Prime Minister. In the video that the BJP people are uploading, there is not even the audio of the speech of the respected Leader of Opposition Shri Tejaswi Prasad Yadav ji, a conspiracy has been hatched to defame him by distorting the audio in this video,” his FB post read.
