United States President Donald Trump  reacted to American television host and comedian, Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night talk show going off air “indefinitely” following backlash, connected to Charlie Kirk. He called the show’s suspension “Great News for America,” congratulating the American Broadcasting Company (ABC) for having the courage to take the action.

Launching attack on Kimmel, Trump stated that he has zero talent and ratings worse than even Colbert. “Great News for America: The ratings challenged Jimmy Kimmel Show is CANCELLED. Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done. Kimmel has ZERO talent, and worse ratings than even Colbert, if that’s possible. That leaves Jimmy and Seth, two total losers, on Fake News NBC. Their ratings are also horrible. Do it NBC!!! President DJT,” he wrote on Truth Social.

Why is Jimmy Kimmel’s show pulled off air?

Reportedly, Disney’s ABC has taken late-night talk show off air “indefinitely” following backlash over the host’s comments about the motives behind the killing of conservative commentator Kirk. The company strongly objected to Kimmel ‘s remark on the killing of Charlie Kirk and stated that it would replace the show with other ABC programmes. According to Variety, Nexstar said that its “owned and partner television stations affiliated with the ABC Television Network will pre-empt airings of ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ for the foreseeable future.

During his monologue on Monday, Kimmel addressed the killing of Kirk and criticised attempts by Trump supporters to politicise the case. He had called the accused Tyler Robinson as kid and MAGA (Make America Great Again) gang desperate to characterise him to score political points.

“We had some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterise this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and with everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel said.

Trump’s close ally Kirk, was shot dead last week during an event at a Utah university campus. The accused, 22-year-old, Tyler Robinson has been formally charged with murder. According to police, Robinson had fired a rifle from a rooftop, hitting Kirk in the neck with a single bullet.
