Yash Raj Films and Aditya Chopra have found a new blue-eyed boy. Ahaan Pandey, the current box office sensation, had to wait three years for Saiyaara to happen.

A very close friend of Aditya Chopra tells me, “Somehow the project that Aditya Chopra planned with Ahaan was not happening. It kept getting delayed repeatedly. Ahaan was contractually bound to Yash Raj Films. Adi offered to let Ahaan go. He offered to free the newcomer from the contract. But the boy held on. ‘No, Sir I will wait for as long as it takes.’ And he kept his word until Saiyaara happened.”

Now Aditya is so impressed by Ahaan’s dedication and sincerity he is already planning his next project for the boy, which will be a full-on action film.

Says Aditya Chopra’s friend, “Ahaan is contracted for three films with Yash Raj Films. Even before the release of Saiyaara he was getting plum offers from the biggest production houses. After the release of Saiyaara the offers have multiplied manifold. But Ahaan is not biting the bait.”

Apparently, Aditya Chopra has told his friends that Ahaan is the “new Ranveer Singh” at Yash Raj. Ranveer left Aditya Chopra and Yash Raj some years ago. Prior to that, Singh was so close to Chopra that he would sign a new film only after consulting his mentor.
