‘Superman’ has finally arrived in theatres worldwide after generating major buzz ahead of its release. Starring David Corenswet in the title role, the movie brings back the glory of Superman to the big screen after eight years. David replaces Henry Cavill as the beloved superhero and has been receiving immense praise for his performance. ‘Superman’ enjoys a huge fan following in India as well, and it’s giving tough competition to Bollywood movies released this week.

Superman Box Office Collection India Day 1:

According to ETimes, ‘Superman’ had an impressive opening in India, collecting approximately Rs 7 crore. The movie has successfully left behind other releases in India, as Rajkummar Rao’s ‘Maalik’ and Shanaya Kapoor’s ‘Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan’ managed only Rs 3.35 crore and Rs 35 lakh, respectively.

About Superman

Apart from David Corenswet, the movie also stars Rachel Brosnahan and Nicholas Hoult. Rachel plays Lois Lane, a journalist and Clark Kent a.k.a. Superman’s love interest. Nicholas plays Lex Luthor, the film’s antagonist who hates Superman.

While speaking to GQ, David revealed that he was initially hesitant to take on the iconic role of Superman. He shared, “A role like Superman seems like something that everybody would want, and that’s not true. There are some people who wouldn’t want that role and who would, if given the opportunity, say no. I am obviously not one of those people. But I certainly tried to think of reasons not to.”

He added, “Ultimately, what I landed on for myself was, if this is the only role I get to play for the rest of my life, and that means whether I get to play it once or get to play it 10 times, would I still say yes? And the answer was yes.”

‘Superman’ also stars Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, and Isabela Merced in the supporting roles.
