After India’s defeat in Leeds against England in the 1st test, the destruction that India faces is alot to catch up. Not only was the defeat painful, but the realisation that India also had five separate centuries and still lost the series with a disadvantage is a mega-cumulative defeat to the Shubman Gill led team. The 1st Test at the Headingley, involving India and England was a thrilling match to the end. India scored 359/3 on Day 1 with Shubman Gill scoring a century and Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul getting off to a decent start. Rishabh Pant recorded twin centuries and Jasprit Bumrah took five wickets but despite that India could not defend its total of 371. Ben Duckett blasted 149 on the 5th Day after England chased down a total of 345 runs to win the 2nd highest chase on home soil. England, despite Indians having five centurions, was ahead in the five-match series 1-0.
