The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) is soon coming up with a new affordable residential plot scheme for the economically weaker section (EWS), which will be launched near the Noida International Airport.

The scheme will provide around 4,000 plots, each having an area of 30 sq m and priced around Rs 7.5 lakh.

According to officials, these plots will be in Sectors 17, 18, and 20, located in the Jewar area along the Yamuna Expressway. The scheme was approved in the board meeting of the authority held on June 18.

The scheme is specifically for industrial workers working in the Yamuna Expressway area and those whose annual income is Rs 3 lakh or less. Eligible beneficiaries will be able to repay the price of these plots in easy installments over seven years.

YEIDA CEO Arun Vir Singh said that of the total plots, 29% will be reserved for workers employed in regional projects, while 5-5% plots will be allotted to retired military personnel and YEIDA employees.

He said that the scheme is being brought keeping in mind the increasing housing demand in the region, as domestic and foreign investors are rapidly setting up industrial units here, which has increased the need for housing for workers.
