Former India batter and commentator Aakash Chopra weighed in on the debate, suggesting that B Sai Sudharsan could be the leading contender. Chopra pointed to Sudharsan’s solid performances in domestic cricket and his current form as key reasons for his selection.

Chopra also mentioned Karun Nair as a potential candidate, noting that Nair has frequently been seen batting near the top in recent practice matches. However, he speculated that Nair may eventually slot in at No. 6 instead.

But personally, I think No. 6 suits him better,” Chopra said. “As for the all-rounder spot, Shardul Thakur seems to be the frontrunner. Nitish Kumar Reddy could play as well, but it looks like only one of them will make the cut,” he concluded.
