U/A certified film: ‘Kuberaa’ by Sekhar Kammulas is being booked to release within a comparatively very short span of time starring Dhanush and Nagarjuna in the lead cast. However, before its official showing in the theatres, CBFC was forced to delete 19 scenes in the film.
Trimmed Film 195 minutes to 181 minutes
The filmmakers had initially sent a 195-minute duration that also obtained the certification of the board. They, however, decided to cut the movie to 181 minutes (or more than three hours). The team states that they received the certificate prematurely so that they could not feel last-minute pressure and had already been planning to abridge the final version.
19 Cuts Create Fan Interest
Having lost almost 14 minutes in the movie due to 19 cuts, fans started wondering what had been taken out and how it impacted the plot of the movie. The hype surrounding the movie is already massive and this transition has only made it more interesting.
Good Advance Bookings
According to the report released by Times of India, the movie has already begun on a good note in advance booking terms with more than 2000 tickets already being sold generating approximately 36,200 dollars even before it has been released.
Dhanush’s Work experience at Kuberaa
Talking of his experience in the film, Dhanush revealed, “I heard I had to stand in the sun. I had to do a lot of research… All those are lies… I just had to follow my director. Sekhar sir was brilliant. He taught me the nuances. He made life very easy for me. It is a very different character from what I have played before and I enjoyed the challenge.” He further added, “It was a fantastic experience shooting for this film. We shot in dumpyards and garbage trucks. Every experience teaches you something.” Calling Kuberaa close to his heart, Dhanush said, “it is a very, very special film.”

Other major stars of the movie are Jim Sarbh, Dalip Tahil and Sayaji Shinde in addition to Dhanush and Nagarjuna. Both Suniel Narang and Pushkar Ram Mohan Rao produced it under Sri Venkateswara Cinemas LLP and Amigos Creations Pvt. Ltd respectively as the music director, Devi Sri Prasad, scored music to it.
