After Iranian Commander’s Claim, Pakistan Seals Border, Backs Iran But Denies Nuclear Threat To Israel

Pakistan has closed its fences along the Iranian border amid ongoing intense strikes between Iran and Israel since June 13. Both Israel and Iran are engaged in trading missiles and bombs while targeting each other’s key military facilities.

Pakistan suspended border facilities

According to the AFP news agency, officials say the nation has suspended border facilities in the Chaghi, Washuk, Panjgur, Kech, and Gwadar districts.

“Border facilities in all five districts — Chaghi, Washuk, Panjgur, Kech, and Gwadar — have been suspended,” AFP quoted Qadir Bakhsh Pirkani, a senior official in Balochistan province, as saying.

No ban on trade activities

The development can be seen as a preventive measure. Still, Pakistan, which extended solidarity and support to its “brotherly nation,” Iran, made it clear that only Pakistani students can cross the border. It has not imposed any ban on trade activities.

A day earlier, Pakistan clarified that no such statements were issued suggesting it would launch nuclear weapons against Israel if the latter attacks Iran with nukes.

‘Didn’t make any such comment about attacking Israel’

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said in the National Assembly that Pakistan has never made such statements and termed the claim an “irresponsible act.”

‘Trying to resolve the issue’

While speaking to a Pakistani media channel, Dar said he is trying to resolve the issue through dialogue and is in touch with Muslim nations on Iran-Israel Conflict.

On the other hand, Iran welcomed Pakistan’s statements after its commander claimed that Pakistan would attack Israel.
