Josh Hazlewood has been performing exceptionally well in IPL 2025 even after a short hiatus his comeback has been stronger than ever. His return has provided massive boost to RCB even after WTC Final nearing. With the World Test Championship (WTC) final against South Africa set to start on June 11 at Lord’s, Hazlewood is slowly finding his groove, and the IPL has been the ideal platform to gain momentum.

Josh Hazlewood has been incredible in the Test format but in the recent years he has built a reputation and evolved as T20 bowler. On Thursday night in Mullanpur, he ripped apart Punjab Kings batting lineup and picked up three crucial wickets.

Hazlewood has been the backbone of RCB’s pace lineup, he has only played 11 matches but still remains the top wicket-taker and claimed 21 wickets till now. After RCB’s dominating win against Punjab Kings Josh Hazlewood opened up about playing in IPL just when WTC Final is also approaching.

“…I’ve got to be bowling, you know wherever I am in the world, I’ve got to be bowling getting ready for that game (WTC final) anyway,” said Hazlewood

“There’s no better place than I think out in the middle, obviously you’ve got to bowl more, more hours of training from time to time to build up for a Test, but to get that intensity right up, there’s no better place than the IPL,” he asserted after a brilliant haul of 3/21.

“I don’t bowl too much differently in Test match cricket than tonight,” he said

“…So, I was happy with tonight, the wicket helped obviously didn’t it? Not having to bowl fast yorkers or anything like that. So yeah it is feeling good to be back.”
