The Traitors is finally coming to India, after celebrity version in UK and the US, the Indian version of the BAFTA and Emmy Award winning reality series will be hosted by none other than Karan Johar, and it’s all set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on June 12, 2025, with a new episode premiering every Thursday.
Produced by BBC Studios India Productions, The Traitors India will feature 20 celebrities from diverse backgrounds competing in a psychological game of trust and deception.
Karan took to Instagram and shared the teaser of the upcoming reality show and teased, “Here you’ll find a rebel who’s still a kid at heart but big on drama, and those who rely entirely on their outfits to make an impression. The ones who try to hide scandals behind masks. Not to forget those who ended up in prison chasing a couple of chuckles. And the one who’s fast, sadly, only by name. And whose life is fabulous because of me. Thank me later, darling.”
In the caption, he wrote: “Yahan trust is rare, but dhokha is everywhere! #TheTraitorsOnPrime, a new reality series coming on June 12 only on @primevideoin.”
In the video, Karan also teased about the line up, without revealing names outright, he dropped hints about the contestants, calling them a “rebel who’s still a kid at heart,” someone “big on drama,” and “the one who’s fast only by name.” This fueled speculation, and based on the clues, it’s almost confirmed that Apoorva Mukhija aka Rebel Kid, Uorfi Javed, and Raftaar are part of the cast. Munawar Faruqui is also likely onboard.
Other rumored contestants include Jasmin Bhasin, Karan Kundrra, Raj Kundra, Anshula Kapoor, and Sudhanshu Pandey, though an official cast list has not yet been released.
