The excitement of IPL 2025 is entering its final stage. The battle for playoff spots is intensifying, and with every passing match, the points table equation keeps changing. Amidst this high-stakes drama, two legends of Indian cricket Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni are set to face each other, possibly for the last time in the IPL.

This season may also mark the final time these two icons share the field together, adding a layer of emotion to the contest.

Kohli vs Dhoni – The Last Hurrah?

The upcoming clash between RCB and CSK at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru could be a historic one. With CSK already out of the playoff race, and RCB riding high at third place with 14 points, this match carries emotional weight more than playoff implications for Chennai.

Dhoni, now 43 years old, has been grappling with a lingering knee injury. His batting has not shown the spark of old, and speculation is rife that this could be his last IPL match as captain of CSK or even as a player. Fans are bracing themselves for a possibly emotional farewell.

A Rivalry to Remember

The RCB vs CSK rivalry is one of the most iconic in IPL history. Over the years, both teams have played some classic encounters, with Dhoni and Kohli at the center of many unforgettable moments. In head-to-head matchups, CSK has dominated, winning 21 out of 34 matches, while RCB has managed 12 victories.

As the two teams prepare to meet on May 3, fans across the country will be hoping for one last memorable performance from both Dhoni and Kohli, the two pillars of Indian cricket who have given everything to the IPL.

Virat and Dhoni’s Stats

In IPL, Virat Kohli has scored 8416 runs with an average of 38.09 and MS Dhoni has scored 4876 runs with an average of 48.93. Kohli has hit 98 fifties and 9 centuries in T20s. The highest score for Kohli is 254 while Dhoni’s is 84*.

Kohli has faced 5581 balls, whereas Dhoni has faced 9921 balls. Dhoni has 16 not outs whereas Kohli has 11. These stats highlight Kohli’s prolific run-scoring and Dhoni’s experience and consistency in the league, despite having played fewer matches.
