Eric Simons Blames CSK’s Batting After MS Dhoni And Co. Get Eliminated From The Playoffs

As CSK was eliminated from the playoffs after losing from PBKS by 4 wickets in yesterday’s IPL clash at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium. The home team’s bowling coach Eric Simons came forward and blamed the batting line up while admitting that his team has to improve their batting accuracy.

Eric Simons Statement About CSK’s Performance

 “We have been good at taking wickets, but as a team in our batting, there are a few areas where we need to find and to be more accurate around and what we need to do,” Simons said. “It’s all about being more accurate.”

What Happened In CSK Vs PBKS Match

In the IPL clash CSK scored 190 runs and set the target of 191 for PBKS to achieve yet their initial batting setup proved unsuccessful. The batting lineup led by Sam Curran who hit 9 boundaries and 4 six and scored 88 off 47 deliveries while Shaik Rasheed received 11 runs and Ayush Mhatre added 7 to the total. The batting line-up only saw Jadeja score 17 runs and Brevis score 32 runs while the remaining players failed to contribute. Yuzvendra Chahal achieved a hat-trick against CSK players during the 19th over to become the first IPL 2025 hat-trick player and notch number 9 in both points earned and wickets taken. Punjab achieved victory by running behind 191 runs with Shreyas Iyer and Prabhsimran Singh scoring fifty each before taking four wickets.

CSK’s Performance In The IPL 2025 Season

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has experienced eight defeats and two wins in the inaugural ten games of IPL 2025. Through their 4 victories in the matches the Chennai Super Kings finished with a negative value of -1.211 for their net run rate. The team continues to suffer defeats because it dropped four of its last five matches followed by a single win during the IPL 2025 season. The team occupied the last place in the standings due to negative seasonal results despite displaying adequate performance quality. The team experienced elimination from the playoffs after PBKS beat them in their last matchup.
