Delhi Cracks Down On Old Vehicles: No Fuel For THESE Types Of Vehicles Starting July 1

The Commission for Air Quality Management has ordered authorities in the national capital to deny fuel to End-Of-Life Vehicles. These include diesel vehicles older than 10 years and petrol vehicles older than 15 years. This rule will be applicable in Delhi from July 1, 2025.

According to the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) post, “the Commission has directed that all EoL vehicles identified through the ANPR cameras or other such systems installed at the fuel pump stations shall be denied fueling w.e.f. 01.07.2025 in the NCT of Delhi; w.e.f. 01.11.2025 in 5 High Vehicle Density (HVD) districts of Gurugram, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar, and Sonipat; and w.e.f. 01.04.2026 in the rest of NCR.”

According to the release, “All End-Of-Life (EoL) vehicles identified through the ANPR cameras or other such systems installed at the fuel pump stations shall be denied fueling with effect from 0l/07/2025 in the NCT of Delhi, with effect from o1.11, 2O25 in 5 HVD districts of Gurugram, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Gautam Budh Nagar, and Sonipat, and w.e.f. 01/O4/2O26 in the rest of NCR.”

In five districts with high vehicle density near Delhi — Gurugram, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Gautam Budh Nagar, and Sonipat — the same measures must commence from November 1 this year, with the installation of ANPR cameras to be completed by October 31.

The release also mentioned, “The authorities concerned in the NCT of Delhi and in the NCR States shall ensure adoption of appropriate technologr-based solutions like installation of ANPR camera systems at all fueling stations in their respective territories latest by 30.o6.2025 for the NCT of Delhi, latest by 31/10/2025 in all fuel stations in 5 high vchicle density (IIVD) districts in NCR contiguous to Delhi viz. Gurugram, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddh Nagar, and Sonipat latest by 31.O3.2026 for all fueling stations in the rest of NCR.”
