PCB Slaps One-Year Ban On Corbin Bosch For Ditching PSL To Join IPL

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has suspended South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch for one year after he previously accepted a Peshawar Zalmi team slot in January 2025 but instead joined Mumbai Indians for their participation in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Bosch broke his contract terms with PSL franchise Peshawar Zalmi. The Zalmi franchise initially selected Bosch in their January 2025 draught but Bosch made the decision to fill the spot of the injured Lizaad Williams when entering the IPL. The PCB launched swift disciplinary procedures when PSL faced competition from IPL this year which brought about widespread criticism.

PCB Issues One-Year Ban As Corbin Bosch Apologises For PSL Withdrawal

In a statement, the PCB said: “The all-rounder will serve a one-year ban and will not be eligible for selection in next year’s Pakistan Super League.”

Earlier the board sent Bosch a legal notice about an agreement violation due to his draught withdrawal. Bosch stepped forward to apologise publicly after the league banned him for his actions while working as an experienced international league player. Bosch apologised publicly to the fans after his ban in league competitions which expanded across the globe.

Corbin Bosch Expresses Remorse, Hopes For Redemption After PSL Ban

“I deeply regret my decision … and offer my sincere apologies to the people of Pakistan, the fans of Peshawar Zalmi and the wider cricket community,” Bosch said.

“I fully understand the disappointment caused by my actions … but I am committed to learning from this experience and hope to return to the PSL in the future with renewed dedication and the trust of the fans.”
