Major Crackdown On Terrorist Sympathizers In Kashmir: Eight Arrested, Properties Worth 10 Crores Attached

In a fight against terrorism and separatist activities, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested eight individuals linked to various proscribed separatist organizations. This operation, conducted in Bandipora, North Kashmir, is part of an extensive investigation into cases registered against these banned outfits.

The police action unfolded at multiple locations across Bandipora, where officers seized objectionable materials, pamphlets, and electronic devices, including mobile phones, from the arrested individuals. According to police officials, these members have been actively promoting terrorist and secessionist agendas in Jammu and Kashmir, despite their affiliations being outlawed under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

“The arrests highlight the ongoing commitment to combat extremism and maintain peace in the Valley. We will not tolerate any efforts to recruit youth or further the agenda of violence,” stated a police spokesperson. The authorities emphasized that anyone found promoting separatist ideologies will face severe legal repercussions.

In a broader initiative against terrorism, the JK Police have also attached properties worth approximately 10 crores belonging to terrorists, some of whom are operating from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). This week alone, Ganderbal Police took decisive action by attaching 9 kanals and 7 marlas of agricultural land valued at around 3.47 crores belonging to individuals who had illegally fled to Pakistan for arms training.

Additionally, Sopore Police, in collaboration with local magistrates, have targeted properties linked to two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists, Umar Mir and Bilal Mir. Both men, who fled to Pakistan in 2017, are accused of spreading terrorism in North Kashmir. The properties attached in Sopore are valued in the crores and are part of ongoing efforts to dismantle the terror ecosystem in the UT.

Authorities assert that these actions serve as a strong message to those aiding and abetting terrorism, reinforcing the commitment to ensure security and stability in Jammu and Kashmir.
