India’s Su-30MKI Raises Concerns For Pakistan Air Force; Pak Pilots Receive Training To Counter Indian Fighter Jet: Report

Pakistan has recently observed Pakistan Day. During the celebrations, the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) performed air shows. A video of PAF emerged in which they praised the capabilities of PAF but there was something unusual in the video that caught everyone’s attention. The PAF officials were seen worried with India’s Su-30 MKI. It seems that their planning and training were around Su-30 MKI.

According to a report of IDFR, the PAF video shows that PAF’s Griffin squadron Leader is giving training to the team for a special mission. The leader is seen holding a small model of Su-30 MKI on which he is seen talking. It gives a sense that the PAF is looking to tame India’s super capable fighter jet Su-30 MKI. It shows how much PAF is giving seriousness to Indian combat fighter jets.

During the Pakistan Day event, the PAF pilots were trying to understand how to compete with Su-30 MKI with their F-16 and JF-17. The Pakistani pilots were attempting to learn the Su-30 MKI’s radar range,  missiles and speed of the combat aircraft.

Last year, the Cabinet Committee on Security had cleared two major projects worth around Rs 20,000 crore for 12 Su-30 MKI fighter jets for the Indian Air Force and 100 K-9 Vajra Self-propelled howitzers for the Indian Army.

The 12 SU-30MKI jets for the Indian Air Force would be licensed and manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) at its Nashik facility and cost around Rs 13,000 crore.

These will replace aircraft that have been lost over the last many years.
