Popular South Korean actor Kim Soo Hyun has been receiving backlash online after a YouTube channel claimed that he dated late actress Kim Sae Ron when she was minor and he was 27. Amid this controversy, Kim Soo Hyun’s old video about wanting to marry 21-year-old has surfaced online again.

In an interview from 2013, Kim Soo Hyun was asked about marriage plans and said that he will marry a 21-year-old when he is 41. He reportedly said, “It looks like my marriage timeline has been pushed back a bit. I think I might be able to get married at around 41. I’ll marry a 21-year-old when I’m 41.”

This comment earlier seen in a light-hearted manner but it has now been creating controversy due to Kim Soo Hyun’s alleged relationship with Kim Sae Ron.

According to YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute, Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron were dating for six years. Their relationship has been labeled as problematic as the Queen Of Tears star was 27 when he was allegedly dating Kim Sae Ron, who was 15 at that time.

His agency has responded to these allegations and called these claims false. The official statement by Kim Soo Hyun reads, “The claims made by Garosero Research Institute regarding Kim Soo Hyun on YouTube today are completely false.”

“They alleged that our company and Kim Soo Hyun colluded with YouTuber Lee Jin Ho to harass the late Kim Sae Ron, that Kim Soo Hyun had been dating the late Kim Sae Ron since she was 15, that our agency’s response to her drunk driving accident was unfair, and that our company’s manager had a close relationship with YouTuber Lee Jin Ho. These accusations, along with numerous other malicious claims against our company and Kim Soo Hyun, are entirely false, and we cannot overlook them,” it added.

Kim Sae Ron and Kim Soo Hyun’s dating rumours surfaced when the late actress posted a selfie with the Dream High star on her Instagram story in 2024. However, she deleted it later.
