India’s Got Talent Row: Ranveer Allahbadia, Apoorva Mukhija Apologize To Women’s Panel For Crass Joke

YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, content creator Apoorva Mukhija, and two producers from India’s Got Talent apologized to the National Commission for Women (NCW) . They said their comments were wrong and promised to be more careful with their words next time.

The four people met with the NCW on Thursday, where they said they were sorry for using inappropriate language and promised to be more careful with their words in the future.

NCW chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar spoke about the issue, saying, “The obscene language used on the show is absolutely indecent. The Commission will never accept it, nor will the people. Keeping in mind the social impact, we immediately took cognisance and issued them notices. When they appeared before the Commission, they admitted their mistake, apologised, and assured that such an incident would not happen again.”

The controversy started because of a question asked by Allahbadia in an episode of India’s Got Talent, where he was a judge along with Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Mukhija.

About The Controversy:

Ranveer appeared on comedian Samay Raina’s show India’s Got Latent with YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani and social media influencer Apoorva Makhija in the latest episode. The backlash was caused due to Ranveer’s question for one contestant as he said, “Watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life. Or would you join in once and stop it forever?”
These comments caused huge backlash, which led to many people demanding ban of India’s Got Latent and Ranveer’s podcasts. The controversy escalated when the complaint were also filed with the Mumbai Commissioner and Maharashtra Women’s Commission for allegedly using abusive language on the show.
