Khalistani extremists tried to cause trouble during External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar’s visit to London, turning a protest into a security issue. As he was leaving Chatham House, a man rushed towards his car and tore the Indian flag in front of the police officers.

After this incident the spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs says, “We have seen the footage of a breach of security during the visit of EAM to the UK. We condemn the provocative activities of this small group of separatists and extremists. We deplore the misuse of democratic freedoms by such elements. We expect the host government in such cases to fully live upto their diplomatic obligations.”

About The whole incident:

A group of Khalistani extremists tried to disrupt India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar’s visit to London, causing a security issue. As Jaishankar was leaving Chatham House after a discussion, a man ran towards his car and tore the Indian flag in front of the police.

Khalistani Protester Disrupts S. Jaishankar’s UK Visit Amid Important Talks

The incident happened during External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar’s official visit to the UK from March 4 to 9.

Earlier, Jaishankar had important meetings at Chevening House with UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy. They discussed many topics, including strengthening relations, trade talks, education, technology, and people-to-people exchanges.

During a talk at Chatham House, Jaishankar was asked if Prime Minister Narendra Modi could use former US President Donald Trump’s desire for peace to solve the Kashmir issue with Pakistan. Jaishankar strongly defended India’s position, saying there was no need for outside help. He pointed out that India had already made important changes, like removing Article 370, improving the region’s economy, and holding elections with high voter turnout.
