As the Champions Trophy commences on 19 February, New Zealand won the inaugural match by defeating the hosts Pakistan by 60 runs. Today India will take on Bangladesh in the Dubai International Stadium, UAE. India makes another record of losing the Toss for the 11th consecutive time.

Matches Netherlands

A record-breaking run of unfortunate coin tosses by India matches the historical record of 11 consecutive losses by the Netherlands in One Day Internationals. Since the devastating 2023 World Cup final Indian mentors have continuously lost the toss in matches that matched the unfortunate period of the Dutch team from March 2011 to August 2013. The random statistical pattern at cricket’s traditional toss ritual displays how big nation India meets the same fortune of bad luck observed in associate cricket member Netherlands.

India’s Loss Record
The 2023 World Cup Final in Ahmedabad marked India’s initial loss in tossing order after Pat Cummins made the right decision before Australia chased down their target of 240. During their challenging December 2023 South African tour the Proteas outperformed India by winning every toss before securing a successful conclusion of the series. In the middle of 2024 Sri Lanka successfully outperformed India by winning all three tosses when the sides met for ODIs in Colombo. During their February series in 2025 England won the toss three times before India eventually triumphed in the series. India’s losing streak in tosses reached eleven continued during the 2025 Champions Trophy after Bangladesh chose batting first as the winning side marking a history-matching ODI run of deserted tosses that the Netherlands had during 2011-2013.
