Australia’s strongest squad is now in big trouble as uncertainty looms over the participation of key players in Champions Trophy 2025. The marquee tournament will be starting from February 19 and Australia is hit with back-to-back injury setbacks.

Mitchell Marsh Ruled Out

The first blow came in for Australia when Mitchell Marsh got ruled out due to back injury. It is unlikely that he will play even the remaining domestic season, but there is a possiblity that he will appear in Indian Premier League (IPL) for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

Who’ll Be Replacement Of Mitchell Marsh?

Australia has still not named the replacement of Mitchell Marsh but there’s a high chance that Beau Webster will receive a call-up in the ODI squad.

Injury Concerns Of Aaron Hardie And Marcus Stoinis

Both Hardie and Stoinis are in the squad already but they have injury concerns. Hardie was already going through quad problems and Stoinis suffered some hamstring tightness.

Pat Cummins Highly Doubtful

Pat Cummins is “heavily unlikely” for Champions Trophy because of this ankle injury. Steve Smith and Travis Head are in contention to become the captain if Pat Cummins misses out.

Josh Hazlewood’s Injury Concerns

Josh Hazlewood is recovering from hip injury, he sustained it while recovering from side and calf injuries which kept him the last three Tests in Border-Gavaskar Trophy and the entire Sri Lanka Tour.
