India’s budget session is underway, kicked off by President Droupadi Murmu’s address to a joint session of Parliament. Next, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Economic Survey 2025 in the Parliament.

Prepared under the guidance of Chief Economic Adviser V Anantha Nageswaran, the Economic Survey will offer an official review of India’s economic performance during the current financial year. This document will also list the nation’s challenges and provide a roadmap for reforms and growth.

Notably, the Finance Minister will present the second budget of the Modi 3.0 government on Saturday, February 1. With this, she will become the country’s first Finance Minister to present the Union Budget for the 8th consecutive time.

Economic Survey 2025: What Else?

For the upcoming Budget session, the government has lined up 16 key Bills, including the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, in addition to its financial agenda.
