Acclaimed director SS Rajamouli recently dropped a cryptic hint on Instagram, suggesting that Mahesh Babu has commenced filming for their highly anticipated project, tentatively titled ‘SSMB29’. Adding to the excitement, global superstar Priyanka Chopra has joined the cast and was spotted arriving in Hyderabad few days back.

While further details about the films, tentatively titled SSMB29′, have been kept under wraps, we have learnt something more about the casting. As per a source close to the production, the film will also feature Indian action-star John Abraham. He has been roped in by Rajamouli for a pivotal role. “Earlier, Prithviraj Sukumaran was considered for the role, but things could not materialise. Now, John will be seen sharing the screen with Priyanka Chopra. He has quite a few scenes with her and the shoot will happen in Hyderabad itself,” revealed the source.

It is to be noted that the official confirmation about the same has not been given by the makers or John Abraham.

About John Abraham

Meanwhile, John is gearing up for the release of The Diplomat. The film will hit the screens on March 7, 2025 and the first poster of it is out. The actor looks sharp in a grey suit and red tie, sporting a mustache and an intense expression. The poster carries a powerful tagline – “True hero needs no weapons” – and also reveals that the film is based on a true story.

Sharing the poster on Instagram, he wrote, “Honoured to bring this story of courage and diplomacy to life. See you in theatres on March 7th.”

The upcoming film follows the courageous journey of an Indian diplomat who embarks on a mission to rescue an Indian girl trapped in Pakistan, where she was allegedly coerced into a forced marriage against her wishes.

The film also features Kumud Mishra, Sharib Hashmi, Amitoj Mann, Benjamin Gilani, Sadia Khateeb, Ashwath Bhatt, Ram Gopal Bajaj among others.
