PM Modi Kicks Off 2025’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’: Lauds ISRO’s Space Germination Success And Tiger Reserve Additions

Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the 118th episode and first ‘Mann ki Baat’ program this year highlighted ISRO’s remarkable achievement. He reinstated that the latest success shows that our scientists are working with a vision for the future.

He informed that scientists of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) have successfully carried out the germination experiment in space.” PM Modi called it an inspiring experiment which will open doors to Future Space Farming.

“Our scientists are also trying to grow plants in space and keep them alive. For this, ISRO scientists have selected cowpea seeds. These seeds sent in space on 30 December have germinated in space. This is an inspiring experiment which will open avenues to grow vegetables in space in the future. This shows that our scientists are working with a vision for the future,” said PM Modi.

He further mentioned that IIT Madras is working on new technologies for manufacturing in space which includes 3D printed buildings, metal foams and optical fibres in space.

“The ExTeM centre of IIT Madras is working on new technologies for manufacturing in space. This centre is researching technologies like 3D printed buildings, metal foams and optical fibres in space, and developing revolutionary methods like manufacturing concrete without water. This research will strengthen India’s Gaganyaan mission and future space stations,” added PM Modi.

Apart from this, in his address to the nation, PM Modi said, “In the past two months, our country has added two new tiger reserves. One of them is Guru Ghasidas – Tamor Pingla Tiger Reserve in Chhattisgarh, and the second is the Ratapani Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh.”
